Missing a UCAS deadline can feel overwhelming, especially for international students aiming to secure a place at a UK university. However, there are still plenty of options available to you. Whether you’re applying late, exploring alternative routes, or seeking professional guidance, this post will help you navigate your next steps.
Don’t worry – you still have options
If you missed the main UCAS deadline, there are several alternatives to consider:
Late Applications: Universities continue to accept applications after the January deadline, provided they still have spaces available. If you apply after 30 June, your application will automatically enter Clearing.
UCAS Extra: If you’ve used all five choices and haven’t received an offer, you can apply for another course through UCAS Extra, which runs from February till early July.
Clearing: This is a process for students who haven’t secured an offer or are applying late. Clearing opens in early July and remains available until mid-October.
Applying Directly to Universities: Some institutions accept direct applications, particularly for international students. Contacting universities individually can help you explore additional options.
Deferring Your Entry: If you’ve missed all possible deadlines, deferring your application to the following academic year may be a viable solution.
For more details on these options, check official university websites and UCAS resources.
